(1) Charles Lin, Ph.D.
Charles Lin, chairman, and founder of Bridge Semiconductor Corporation, has served as its chief executive officer since 2000. He has more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry in public and private sectors, having held research & development, technology management, and executive appointments in countries including the USA, Singapore, and Taiwan.
He began his career in 1987 at MCC in Austin, USA. In 1993, he moved from the USA to Singapore to join the newly formed Institute of Microelectronics (IME) before heading to Taiwan to lead the Advanced Packaging Division of ERSO/ITRI in 1994. In 1996, he returned to Singapore as the CTO of Gul Technologies before taking up the CEO appointment at Advanpack Solutions (APS) in 1998.
Charles did his post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Texas, Austin under Prof. Allen Bard, received his Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University under Prof. Ernest Yeager in 1985, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the National Taiwan University in 1977.
(2) Mr. Philip Shu
Mr. Philip Shu, one of the founders of Bridge Semiconductor Corporation has served as its advisor since September 2000. Prior to founding the company, he has more than 30 years of experience in the banking and steel industry having held executive & management positions in areas of legal, computer, administration, manufacture, investment, sales, and financial management.
Mr. Shu began his career in 1971 in Taiwan High Court and joined the Taiwan Business Bank (TBB) in 1972. He rose to become TBB's Manager for the Trust Department before joining Ta Chong Bank in 1992 as its Vice President. In 1993, he joined Tung Ho Steel Enterprise Corporation (THS) as Vice President of Administration and rose to become Executive Vice President and General Manager of Taiwan's first H-Beam steel work. Subsequently, in 2000 Mr. Shu left THS to pursue his business interests, and he served as Bridge's Executive Board Member since 2001.
In 1977, Mr. Shu received the honor as the Distinguish Staff by the Taiwanese Business Bank Association. In 1988, he was the first person from the financial industry to receive the Ideal Worker Award by the Taiwan Provincial Government and was also recognized as one of the Distinguished Financial Staffs by MOF in the same year.
Mr. Shu received his Bachelor of Law from Fu Jen Catholic University in 1969.
